NCMC Baseball Gets 6th At The Prep Baseball JUCO Invitational

NCMC Baseball went 1-3 over the weekend at the 2026 Prep Baseball JUCO Invitational in Millington, TN.  Overall, the Pirates are now 3-5 with their next action coming at home on Friday against Redlands CC out of Oklahoma.

Pacing the NCMC offense was freshman third baseman JP Gonzalez.  He went 9-13 with four doubles and five RBI's for the Pirates.  Also swinging the bat nicely in Tennessee was sophomore Javier Suarez.  He totaled 8 hits and scored a team-high 4 runs in the 4-game set.  The freshman duo of Leonel Dominguez and Koby Wagers homered for the Pirates as well.

Earning the lone win on the mound this weekend was freshman Jorge Jimenez.  In two appearances, he tossed 4.0 innings and did not surrender an earned run.  He allowed just a pair of hits and struck out two.  Sophomore Eduardo Chourio, the Pirate's starting shortstop, came in to close out the win over Elgin CC in dominant fashion, striking out all three batters he faced.

In the toughest matchup of the weekend, NCMC had 13th ranked DI foe Wabash Valley CC down 8-0 before the wheels fell off the pitching staff.  In total, the Pirates ended up allowing 17 free bases by walk and hit by pitch, a stat NCMC simply could not overcome.

Looking ahead, the Pirates will look to get back above the .500 mark with home games Friday and Sunday.
