NCMC Women's Basketball Easily Handles Marshalltown CC

The NCMC women's basketball team delivered a dominant defensive performance Monday, rolling to a 73-45 victory over Marshalltown Community College.

The Lady Pirates controlled the game on both ends of the floor, holding Marshalltown to just 20.9 percent shooting from the field and 17.6 percent from three-point range. NCMC forced 29 turnovers and converted that pressure into consistent offensive opportunities.

Peyton Johnson led all scorers with 15 points, knocking down five three-pointers to spark the Pirates from the perimeter. Liz Oliver recorded a strong double-double effort with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while adding two blocks in the paint.

Sidney Aeschliman contributed 11 points, five rebounds and two steals, and Honor Mannings added 10 points, four steals and three assists in an all-around performance. Tailer Morrison was active on the glass with seven rebounds, including five on the offensive end, helping NCMC to a 54-35 advantage on the boards.

Off the bench, Lexi Burns and Laney Uchtman each scored eight points, while Addilyn Henke distributed five assists and grabbed four rebounds. Keylie Beane stuffed the stat sheet with five rebounds, five assists and three steals.

As a team, the Lady Pirates shot 35.1 percent from the field and 30 percent from beyond the arc, finishing with 20 assists on 27 made field goals. NCMC's defensive intensity and rebounding presence set the tone early and never allowed Marshalltown to find a rhythm.
