Baseball Handles The Cold To Defeat Northeast Iowa CC

North Central Missouri College baseball picked up an 8-4 win over Northeast Iowa Community College at home on Wednesday behind a strong offensive performance and a solid outing on the mound from Luis Leon. Leon earned the victory after tossing five innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out three. At the plate, the Pirates were led by Javier Suarez, who went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI to pace the offense. Koby Wagers also had a big day, finishing 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Gabriel DeFily added a home run and scored twice. Jose Bedoya crossed the plate three times and swiped two bases, while Leonel Dominguez chipped in an RBI and Max Heintz and Luis Rivas each recorded a hit. Out of the bullpen, Ross Peters delivered two strong innings with three strikeouts, and Jonah Sparks recorded the final out to secure his first save of the season as the Pirates totaled 12 hits in the victory.

 

The Pirates are now 5-6 overall with their spring trip next.  They will take on Mineral Area College, ASU Mountain Home and MSU West Plains in the coming week.
