The North Central Missouri College baseball program is proud to announce that two of its standout outfielders, Julio Guerrero and Javier Suarez, have been recognized with NJCAA All-American honors for the 2024-25 season.
"We are very excited for both Julio and Javier to be recognized nationally for their efforts. We had such a strong group of players on our 2024-25 team, especially on the offensive side of the ball, it is nice to see this national recognition," commented NCMC Head Coach Donnie Hillerman.
Julio Guerrero earned Second Team All-American recognition, marking the second consecutive year he has received this prestigious national honor. Guerrero, a dynamic presence both at the plate and in the outfield, was a consistent leader for the Pirates throughout his NCMC career. He will continue his baseball journey at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, an NCAA Division I program, where he will look to make an immediate impact.
Guerrero put together an outstanding 2025 season for NCMC, showcasing his dominance at the plate and consistency as a key offensive leader. In 47 games, the sophomore outfielder tallied 64 hits in 160 at-bats, finishing the year with a stellar .400 batting average. He demonstrated exceptional power and run production, launching 11 home runs, 13 doubles, and a triple while driving in 52 runs. Guerrero also drew 30 walks and posted an impressive on-base percentage of .522, paired with a slugging percentage of .700. His elite combination of average, power, speed and discipline solidified his status as one of the top hitters in the NJCAA.
"Julio was a standout for both years in our program. He along with fellow sophomores Jordi Ventura, Wilmer Jimenez and Alejandro Paz will leave big offensive shoes to fill for the incoming freshman class," added Hillerman.
Freshman Javier Suarez was named an Honorable Mention All-American, capping off an impressive debut season with the Pirates. Suarez's strong offensive production and athleticism in the outfield earned him national attention, and he is set to return to NCMC for the 2025-26 season, where he will once again be a key contributor for the program.
Suarez delivered an outstanding freshman campaign in 2025, establishing himself as one of the most dynamic offensive threats in the lineup. Appearing in 50 games, Suarez posted a remarkable .449 batting average with 92 hits in 205 at-bats, including 18 doubles, 3 triples, and 8 home runs. He drove in 39 runs and crossed the plate 63 times, showcasing both power and consistency at the plate. With a .486 on-base percentage and a .683 slugging percentage, Suarez proved to be a constant presence on the basepaths, adding 17 stolen bases to his resume. His ability to impact the game in multiple ways made him one of the top freshmen performers in the nation.
"We are excited to have Javier returning. He was a catalyst at the top of the order all season and a key part of our returning group in 2025-26. Additionally, shortstop Eduardo Chourio and other returners will look to keep the program's momentum going forward," Hillerman stated.
The NCMC baseball program continues to be a strong pipeline for developing talent, with a tradition of excellence both on and off the field. "Not only do we celebrate these individual achievements for Julio and Javier but we see these as highlights to our overall team success," concluded Hillerman.
