NCMC baseball posted another road split in their fall scrimmage schedule on Saturday when they took a 9-8 defeat against Missouri Valley College before handling the Vikings 15-0 in game two. NCMC now holds a 6-7-1 fall record with a road matchup with Missouri Western State University next on the schedule Tuesday.
Allan Martinez took the loss in the opener by allowing 3 earned runs in 0.2 innings pitched. Sophomore Ramses Gutierrez got the start in game two and pitched a scoreless frame to get the win. Pirates pitching combined to allow no runs in the game and only surrendered 3 hits.
Sophomore Josue Noyola pounded out 5 hits in the doubleheader to lead the Pirates offense. For the fall, he holds a team high .667 batting average. Also continuing his hot fall was Jesus Fonseca who collected 3 hits. Freshman Landon Wells knocked a home run in his two hit performance.
Don't forget that Saturday, Oct. 15th is the annual NCMC Baseball Alumni Game. First pitch at Burleigh Grimes Field is set for 1pm when the current Pirates take on the alumni.
