The Kansas City Royals Scout Team got the best of NCMC baseball on Wednesday evening when they defeated the Pirates 17-0. NCMC's loss moves their fall scrimmage record to 1-2 ahead of a road matchup Saturday against Truman State University.
Posting the best outing on the mound for the Pirates was freshman Allan Martinez. He pitched 3 innings allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 3. Fellow freshman Kevin Toala took the loss in the game, allowing 4 runs over two frames.
At the plate, Jaydon Pribyl and Keaton Mudd both went 1-1 off the bench for the Pirates. Bailey Quint had the team's lone extra base hit, knocking a double in the top of the 7th inning. On the day, NCMC was outhit 15-4.
