Steel Signs with Central Methodist University

Kyle Steel, who is a native of Kintore Aberdeenshire, Scotland, signed on Monday to continue his golf career at Central Methodist University and will enroll there in the fall of 2023. Steel has been a part of the NCMC men's golf program since the spring of 2021.

"I am extremely proud of Kyle for continuing his golf career at CMU. Coach Main does a great job with his program and I have no doubt that Kyle will be in good hands. Kyle has done a great job of stepping into a leadership role this year but we still have an important semester of golf ahead. There is also no surprise how excited I am to watch Kyle continue to compete and grow as a player," stated Coach Swann regarding Steel's potential.

Kyle was a 2nd Team NJCAA Region 16 All Region honoree in 2021 and improved on that in 2022 by earning 1st Team honors while advancing to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.  He fired an impressive 54-hole score of 219 to achieve the honor.  In 2022, Steel also was awarded All District recognition at the completion of the South Central District Championship. With important golf on the horizon, Steel will still look to lead the Pirates to a 2023 NJCAA Region 16 Championship this Spring before becoming an Eagle in August.
