North Central Missouri College, currently ranked 16th in the nation, secured a 67–46 home victory over John Wood Community College on Tuesday night, fueled by efficient shooting and a standout performance from sophomore forward Deng Gak.
Gak was unstoppable in the paint, posting 20 points and 15 rebounds on an impressive 9-of-12 shooting. He controlled the glass from start to finish and added three steals and a block to anchor the Pirates defensively.
Sophomore guard Camden Bennett led all scorers with 22 points, knocking down two threes and attacking the rim consistently. His energy helped spark the Pirates' offense during key stretches.
Fellow starter Camden Brown added 11 points, four steals, and a block while providing stability on the perimeter. James Porter III contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds, continuing his reliable presence inside.
Point guard Grant Redd orchestrated the offense with 5 assists while committing zero fouls, helping NCMC generate rhythm and maintain pace throughout the night.
Off the bench, Kalen Streit delivered quality minutes, scoring 2 points, grabbing a rebound, and tallying 2 assists and a steal.
NCMC shot 51.7% from the field and held John Wood to just 33.9%, using strong defensive rotations and disciplined rebounding to control the game on both ends.
With the win, the Pirates continue to build momentum as they move deeper into the season. Their next action will be a Sunday home game against Quincy University JV. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00pm.
