Baseball Comes Up Short In High Scoring Game At KCKCC

The North Central Missouri College Pirates battled offensively but ultimately fell 11-7 to Kansas City Kansas Community College in a back-and-forth contest on Tuesday.  The loss drops NCMC to 10-12 overall.

The Pirates collected eight hits and drew eight walks on the day, with Koby Wagers leading the charge at the plate. Wagers finished 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, and two RBI, providing a consistent spark in the middle of the lineup. Jose Bedoya also delivered a key swing, blasting a solo home run while adding an RBI and later contributing 1.2 scoreless innings on the mound in relief.

Several Pirates contributed to the scoring effort. Eduardo Chourio doubled and drove in a run, while Javier Suarez added a double and scored once from the leadoff spot. Jeann Pierre (JP) Gonzalez chipped in an RBI, and Leonel Dominguez reached base four times, including three walks, and drove in a run. Ethan Shupe added an RBI on a sacrifice fly to round out the offensive production.

On the mound, the Pirates used four pitchers, with Amaury Cienfuegos taking the loss after allowing five runs over two innings. Logan Arbuckle provided 2.1 innings of relief, and Jaxon Turner struck out three in his two innings of work. Bedoya closed things out effectively, holding KCKCC scoreless down the stretch.

Despite the offensive effort, Kansas City Kansas capitalized on four home runs to pull ahead. The Pirates will look to build on their offensive momentum as they prepare for their next outing down at Three Rivers College.
