Quinan Rieves is a freshman men’s basketball player from Kansas City, MO. The Lincoln Prep high school standout has been a key contributor this year for the Pirates, averaging 6.3 points per game on 53% shooting.
Quinan, who likes to relax when he isn’t on the court or in the library, wants to be a physical therapist following college. “When I was younger, I had to do physical therapy for my back. Since then, I’ve wanted to become a physical therapist so that I can help others,” commented Rieves.
In addition to the fun he is having on the court with his coaches and teammates, he says that the inviting atmosphere of the Student Support Services (SSS) has really been great. “The people in the SSS are so nice. They are always doing anything they can to help.”
As his career moves forward, Rieves looks to take more of a leadership role on the Pirates basketball squad. “In high school I was more of a scorer and leader on the team. Now, my role is to defend and rebound. I see opportunities to lead as the season moves on and I’m excited for that,” stated Rieves.
